Not every project follows the same path and this one worked in reverse.

Before Brand & Build officially existed, Philip had already built a website for Mindful Perceptions, run by the lovely Denise Cohen. It was a calm, simple, professional site doing exactly what it needed to: giving her business an online home and making it easy for people to find and connect with her.

Later, as the business grew, Denise wanted to focus on her wider marketing materials – and that’s when Hermione joined the project. From there, she developed business cards and posters designed with the same feel, tone and colour palette as the existing website. Everything now works in harmony, both online and offline.

Rooted in the Website

This was a great example of a website being the first step. The branding for Mindful Perceptions evolved naturally from the design decisions made during the website build – colours, fonts and layout cues that could then be carried over into print.

Completing the Picture

When the time was right, Hermione stepped in to design new business cards and posters for events and classes. She brought in softer tones, considered spacing, and a mindful calmness that reflected both Denise’s brand and the way she works with her clients.

The result? Materials that feel completely aligned – even though the website came first. It’s proof that strong branding doesn’t always have to start with a logo. Sometimes it starts with a feeling, a colour, or a website that works – and we build from there.
